Novoferm offers a wide range of doors and gates that are capable of being integrated into a software-supported building management system through the use of optional accessories. This makes us a contributor to what is currently the most fundamental development within the construction industry: the automation of buildings. This not only relates to controlling heating, air conditioning, security technology and other building services, but also to doors and gates – particularly with regard to their automation. The ultimate aim here is to increase energy efficiency, safety and convenience.

In a smart building, the building management system essentially represents the brain, which acts as a hub where all essential information comes together for the coordinated control of all components.

Sensors collect relevant data that is used to initiate appropriate actions – such as the automatic closure of a fire door after the building has detected fire or smoke and the door release system has been triggered automatically. To allow all of the desired functions to be networked appropriate interfaces to the building management system are required.

In addition to the manufacturer-specific closed system solutions available on the market, open platforms are also available for increased flexibility to support functions afforded by a variety of different manufacturers. In fact, Novoferm multifunctional doors and gates offer a wide range of easy-to-use accessories that facilitate straightforward integration into open systems such as these.

In response to the growing security requirements of business and private customers, NovoPorta Premio has been enhanced to include burglar resistance class RC 4.

An additionally reinforced door panel with solid multiple locking system including 4 swing bolts is subjected to the strict requirements of RC 4 testing.

In many European countries, the highly fire retardant classification EI₂ 60 is the pertinent requirement in national building laws.

The new NovoPorta Premio EI₂ 60 model responds to this requirement.

Following on from the NovoPorta Premio EI₂ 30 for outdoor use, the gap for the EI₂ 90 classification has now been closed with another special Premio design for outdoor use.

In European rule and standards, EI₁ fire resistance classification constitutes best engineering practice. In fire testing, the door must demonstrate virtually no deformation to pass. In addition, compliance with extremely strict specifications governing room closing and thermal insulation performance is mandatory.

We have conquered these hurdles for the first time with our NovoPorta Premio EI₁ 60-1.

Numerous sensitive areas require protection against attacks of all kinds. The threat of handguns is becoming ever more real, not just in military areas but also and particularly in the public and civilian sectors. Affected areas include, e.g. security areas in airports, train stations or venues, but also safety-relevant areas in police and law enforcement buildings. The use of large calibre hand guns is generally assumed in these threatening situations.

Premio S-D is a special bullet resistant door that is now available with two leaves and ballistic class FB4. Together with the standard RC 3 burglar resistance it thus often complies with customer requests for the availability of larger door formats.

Plano, the flush closing design that is also based on the NovoPorta platform of doors is becoming increasingly popular among architects and users with sophisticated design requirements as the „most attractive facet of fire protection“, so to speak.

In response, Novoferm has added new sizes to the range of EI₂ 30 doors and developed additional features to give this flush model an even more elegant and sophisticated appearance.

What makes NovoPorta Modular so special is its slimline block frame that is matched exactly to the thickness of the door panel. As a result, the door panel closes flush with the block frame on both sides.

This fire resistant door is a special renovation solution for swing doors that are very common, e.g. in french hospitals. It is particularly suitable for use in escape and evacuation routes that run in both directions.

NovoFire^® EI120 fixed glazing is an extension of the NovoFire^® aluminium family and, with its profile dimensions, fits perfectly into the modular system of all other fire classes. With an installation depth of 110 mm, the construction is one of the slenderest designs in this fire protection class.

NovoFire Thermo EI₁ 30 S₂₀₀ C5 outdoor use. The system is based on sturdy NovoFire® hollow profiles with 4-mm panel thickness and a 90-mm installation depth, also suitable for generous clear-passage dimensions. The construction’s 30-minute fire-resistance time and high insulation properties are achieved through the application of Novoferm’s own fireresistant insulation, developed in house. The design options can be combined to create tailor-made solutions to building safety requirements.
